Former Waratahs and Eastwood player Simon Kasprowicz has left Japan amid allegations of illegal drug use and faces arrest on his return, according to Japanese newspaper and online reports at the weekend.

Kasprowicz, who plays for the Sagamihara Dynaboars, allegedly tested positive to an unnamed drug, believed to be marijuana, in a urine test taken when police questioned him at the Tokyo nightclub area of Roppongi.

However, Kasprowicz, 31, left the country for Australia after having the drug test. Ninemsn.com said he had returned home due to a "family sickness".

Drugs in sport are a police matter in Japan. If he returned, the brother of former Test cricketer Michael Kasprowicz would face the Japanese police and judicial system. His club could then get a one-year ban from their competition if he was found guilty.
