Wallabies player ratings from today's 37-6 World Cup pool win over Canada at Stade Chaban-Delmas:-

CHRIS LATHAM 7.5. Another fine all-round effort capped with the final try and his fifth of the tournament.

CAMERON SHEPHERD 5.5. Had an unhappy time in the wet. Bombed a certain try and spilt plenty of ball.

LOTE TUQIRI 7. Was a menace to the Canadian defence, making three line breaks and setting up three tries but also bombed one other.

ADAM ASHLEY-COOPER 7. Strong in getting over the advantage line but also lost a couple of balls in contact.

DREW MITCHELL 7.5. Best back. Two fine pieces of finishing combined to break David Campese's Australian record (6) for most tries in a tournament.

JULIAN HUXLEY 6.5. Kicked well out of the hands including brilliant banana kick for Mitchell's first try. Off the mark with goalkicking.

SAM CORDINGLEY 6. Tried hard to create and pressure the fringe defence but just couldn't make the attack click and struggled handling slippery ball.

DAVID LYONS 7.5. Enjoyed a rampaging first half before breaking his leg in a cruel blow to end his tournament.

GEORGE SMITH 8. Captain courageous went close to being man of the match. Scored one try and set up another.

HUGH McMENIMAN 8. Player of the game for his non-stop rugged display. Excellent in lineouts and unlucky to be held up twice over the line.

MARK CHISHOLM 6.5. Solid but lost ground to McMeniman, who now appears to have stolen his bench spot in the top side.

NATHAN SHARPE 7.5. Suffered elbow injury early but almost finished the game in a strong and brave effort.

AL BAXTER 7. Scored his maiden Test try to celebrate a fine 50th match for the Wallabies. Scrum did have messy moments.

ADAM FREIER 7.5. First-class performance in all facets. Scored a deserved try from driving maul.

GREG HOLMES 6.5. Worked hard around the ground but failed to have as much impact as first-choice Matt Dunning.
