The duel between wings Vincent Clerc and Shane Williams will be one of the highlights of the Six Nations finale between France and Wales at the Millennium Stadium on Sunday morning (AEDT).

The two players are the best scorers of the 2008 championship with five tries.

Clerc dived over twice against Scotland at Murrayfield and three times against Ireland at the Stade de France.

Williams recorded two doubles in his team's wins over Scotland and Italy and Clerc.

He also scored the decisive try and equalled Gareth Thomas' all-time Welsh record of 40, as Wales wrapped up the Triple Crown with a 16-12 victory over Ireland at Croke Park last weekend.

Clerc, however, is not over-impressed. "We are not the same kind of player. Shane Williams is an atypical wing, very sharp. He doesn't hesitate to go back deep into his team's territory to come back forward," he told reporters on Wednesday.

"I faced him several times. He is on the light side and really tries to avoid physical challenge but he is a very, very good player," he added.

"We'll have to watch out but I think that there are other Welsh players like (fullback) Lee Byrne or (flyhalf) Stephen Jones who have different qualities and are as efficient as Shane Williams, so we mustn't focus too much on him".

At 31, Shane Williams is regarded as one of the best Welsh wings ever and he is on form.

"I think that as an all-round player, I'm playing the best rugby of my career," he was recently quoted by newspapers as saying. "I love scoring tries, at the end of the day it's my job. I'm seen as the team's striker."

One line, however, is missing in his file: he has never scored a try against France.
